Registration Information 2007– 2008
Each child, regardless of race or ethnic background, will be considered for acceptance into Saint Stanislaus Kostka School. If necessary, parish membership and participation will be considered. Non-Catholic students are expected to study and to pass religion as they would any other subject. It is expected that all students participate in all school related activities, both religious and non-religious. Age:
- For registration in the full day or half day pre-kindergarten, children must be 4 years old by December 1.
- Children registering for full day kindergarten must be 5 years old by December 1.
Children must be toilet trained and weaned off of the bottle and pacifier by at least the June before beginning school. DOCUMENTS, FORMS, RECORDS: Registration is not finalized until all completed forms and the registration fee are received. Registration forms may be picked up at the school office or may be requested to be mailed. The following items must be presented at the school office at the time of registration:
- A Baptismal Certificate, showing the imprint of the Church's seal, must be presented for any Catholic child NOT baptized in Saint Stanislaus Church. A Birth Certificate showing the imprint of the official seal must be presented only if the child has not been baptized. A Registration Form with all the required information must be completed. Immunization History and Report Form must be completed with all required information. School Health New Admission Examination Form must be completed and signed by a doctor or Health Clinic. All pre-kindergarten and kindergarten students must have a lead poisoning assessment. Report Card, Test Scores and a Letter from the Present Teacher must be presented only for students registering for grades two through seven.
- A non refundable Registration Fee per child must be presented when the completed forms are returned.
Pre-Admission Screening and Interview:
- By the end of May, children registering for pre-kindergarten, kindergarten and grade 1 will be asked to come for an initial screening to help the teachers to determine the child's level of development in motor and language skills.
- Parents of children as well as the child to be registered for grades 2 – 8 should make arrangements to come for an interview. A report card and a statement from the child's present teacher verifying the child's scholastic standing should be presented in addition to the documents listed above.
School Hours:
- Pre-kindergarten (half day) 8:00 - 11:30 Pre-kindergarten (full day) 8:00 - 2:15
- Kindergarten – Grade 8 8:00 - 2:25
Parish Membership: Saint Stanislaus Kostka School serves the Catholic parishes of Maspeth. Catholic families are members of a parish by the fact of their Baptism and presence within the boundaries of the parish.
- All Catholic families are expected to be registered members of their parish. Catholic families are expected to take seriously the responsibility to worship on Sunday and to contribute to the financial support of the parish through the use of the parish envelopes.
- In-parish tuition rates are available for those families that contribute at least $365.00 per calendar year through the weekly envelopes.
